Friedrich Heinrich Kern’s flying visit in TV series Babylon Berlin.

Famed composer, glass harmonica virtuoso, and pianist  Friedrich Heinrich Kern makes his “acting debut” in a short scene of the new season of ‘Babylon Berlin‘ as a Glass Harmonika player on a Berlin market. For this role, he composed an original track to accompany his performance.

Kern, described as a boundary-crosser in neo-classicism, is no stranger to stages like the Metropolitan Opera in New York. He also feels at home playing in basement clubs, combining electronic music with sounds from old pianos he discovers on his travels. This creates an emotionally modern and urban romanticism akin to composers like Max Richter or Nils Frahm. His latest single, ‘Glasraum,’ was recently released by M=Maximal /// SyncronArts.

Kern can also be heard collaborating with violin virtuoso Niklas Liepe on ‘Goldberg Reflections,’ released by Sony Classical.
